🏎️ Colton and the Racing Adventure 🐉
I wrote this story with my husband, Leonard, several years ago. Leonard drove a blue 1963 Belvedere Plymouth race car, named Max 🏁, winning several racing trophies 🏆. Max was a stock car with a high-powered engine, perfect for drag racing — racing another car from a standing start for a quarter mile.
There are many forms of car racing. NASCAR features stock cars with high-powered engines racing around tracks at speeds up to 200 mph 💨. The Indy 500 uses lighter, low-to-the-ground cars that can reach 240 mph 🏎️💨. And of course, Formula 1 cars are slightly heavier than Indy cars, low to the ground, and can reach speeds up to 233 mph 🌟.
As you know from my other stories, Colton is a strong-headed, daredevil little boy, determined to follow through on his ideas 😎. So, Colton decides he’s going to drive his father’s race car 🏎️. But there’s a wrinkle in his plan: Colton has no driver’s license, and he’s only ten years old! 😲
Then Colton remembers that his dragons have the wind power 🌬️ to push the car around the vacant lot while he steers. But for this plan to work, he needs to find another dragon egg 🥚 hidden under a bush in the park 🌳 so he can fly to Dragon Land and get help from the other dragons 🐉🐉.
